Hi everyone.
I'm new to the board. Here is a picture of my latest (4th) SC ( plus 1 356)and they say crack is addictive. I just finished restoring it. All the upgrades plus it's been on a serious diet! I am moving the battery to the smugglers box today. Has anyone else made a chin spoiler extension like this. It's home made cost me about $12 and is firm enough to force the air away but the metal behind it is soft enough to bend if I scrape it and not damage the valance. Just wondering what you all think.

I think it's a bit distracting from the rest of the car. Try painting those shiny washers BLACK so you can not see the rivets, then it may blend in a bit more

You are brave for posting your homemade suff here.

You get an "A" for effort, and yes painting the connectors black will help.

I think the front end looks a little high. It may be better to lower the car instead of extending the spoiler. The car looks great by the way.

Thanks for the paint suggestion. I used stainless steal washers with black small alan key bolts.
I cannot get the car lower because I'm running 225's on the front and I start hitting the wheel well if I drop it more. As far as benifts I figure the less air getting under the car at speed the better, after all the don't drop race cars to the deck for nothing.

With a more aggresive air dam Porsche included a rear spoiler to balance out. Your's isn't that low though.

There used to be an aftermarket spoiler company called Flex Dam which produced a FG spoiler with a larger tahn OE removable rubber lip. Too bad they're not around anymore.

I would suggest blacking out the grommets also. I would also tell you to enjoy! Nice ride!

It's a factory color from Porsche. I don't know the name but the factory code number is 30T. I agree with you, I've had them in red, black,silver and dark dark blue and this is my favorite color so far.

Nice car! The air dam is creative and I bet it is functional too. Next you should go for the flat underbody skin. Is that color adriatic blue metalic? I like it alot.

Hey this guy was smart and did not show us all the holes he made for the metal behind it.

I used the existing hole that the chin spoiler attaches to the valance, I bent metal to extent drop downs to the chin spoiler mounting hardware and attached a one inch six foot strip that I bent to follow the shape of the chin spoiler. I didn't drill any holes into any original part of the car just modified my parts so I could take them off and return the car to stock. I can take and post some pics from behind if anyone is interested.

I love seeing homemade stuff! Is it 'cause I am cheap? Maybe. Is it 'cause Porsche parts can be pricey? Probably. Looks good, keep 'em coming!
