mating engine and transmission
What torque is used on the nuts/studs that hold the engine and transmission together? I can't find it in any of the manuals: Bently, Haines, Tech. Spec. book, Autobook or even Clymers....
And do the barrel nuts get the same torque as the regular nuts? |

Randy,
The "Purchase and restoration guide" by Lindsay Porter and Peter Morgan have the transmission to engine bolt torque listed at 28 lb ft. No distinction is made for the barrel nuts. Al P.S. I also have several reference books, including the factory workshop manual(s). I always end up refering to every one of them, and more, to find this kind of info. All good stuff, none of it complete.

well.. the starter mount is 35lb.ft.
I probably went to around 40lb.ft. for starter and tranny to engine.. whatever.
