Lusting after '72 Targas...where to look for listings?

Hi all,
Due to Paul (pwd72s) and Jack's (BB2) doing, I have been lusting after a '72 911 targa. I'd like to find one for a project, but don't exactly know where to look. I've searched the following places so far...does anyone know any other sources? Thanks!

Pelican classifieds
Rennlist
PCA Mart
Collector Car Trader Online
Cars.com
Hemmings
Autotrader (I don't think the online version goes any earlier than '85
ebay

And just to confirm (don't have any of my Porsche books with me), the '72 911T came stock with MFI, correct? And how many of the '72 targas were produced?

Yes all 72s came with MFI, even the T in the US. If I'm reading the Red Book right it looks like 2,931 Targa Ts came to the US. Good luck in your search.

Thanks Jay! I wouldn't mind an E...though an S is probably way out of my price range.

Sunset - sent you a PM

Are you just dying for that oil tank door or what? No disrespect, just curious why you are looking for '72 only.

why do u want a Targa? if you're going to modify it for performance, go for a coupe, more rigid structure.

Speedster, we have built over 40 of them. This one sits next to the 72 Targa.

Does anyone have any links to shops or Porsche mechanics that may be selling 911s?

RUFFBLACKBIRD.......

why not post a "WTB" ad for a 1972 Targa on the Pelican Used Classifieds?

Of course with 1065 posts, you already knew this ;-)

PS: Here is a 1973 from another Pelican with Recaro Sport Seats!!!!!

I already did...but haven't gotten any good leads yet. Thanks though!

it's gotta be a '72...though I was very tempted by that '73!
