More Fuchs/tires opinoins

I know it's been beat to death. And, I'm copying the sucessful thread about SC's and Carreras. I need a litte help for my early non flared S.

I'm getting some 15 x 7 Fuchs. At Ca Speedway I saw tires combos of 205/50 front, 225/55 rear, to 205/60 all around.

The 205/60 (what I have now on deep 6's) looks a tad big to me at this point. But the 205/50 looks small (it is). So that leaves 205/55. Any pics? Or better ideas?

I run 205/55/15's (Bridgestone SO3) on the front of our '73 targa
http://there.dino.com/harold/73-911.html. It still looks too small and the car drags on some driveways. Fender height is 24 3/4". I switched to 225/50/16's on 7x16" rims and it looks a lot better. You could also lower the car height and still clear the driveways. I also fit the 7x17 Boxster S2 wheels which looked pretty good.

I can't find a pic in that link. Is it the right link? No boxster wheels for me. I'll leave them on the Boxster.

exc911ence's car has 205/55s, I believe. Great looking car.

I'll have some more pics of 205/55s on 15x7s on my car in another 2 weeks hopefully. As soon as I get my wheels back and get them mounted I'll post some pics.

OK. That'll work. You gonna do the same thing, eh? I guess I'll be on the bandwagon.

Im will be running 15x7s on all four corners and 205/55s (dont know which tire yet) on my Sepia '72. The wheels are at Al Reeds right getting the RSR rough anodized finish. Al called me yesterday and said they should be done next week. I can't wait.

Ive also got a set of custom offset 16x8s (like the ones on the front of Mark's duck) on the way. I'll try to fit those on the rear and a regular 16x7 on the front.

Just a data point I used 215/60x15 on +23.3mm Fuchs 7x15 on the back of my non flared '72 S. They ended up burning the paint ~6" up the flare.

My C3 came w/ 205/50x15 on 7x15 fronts. They look great on a lowered car.

The 205/55 on the orange car look good too

I had the same setup, but didn't have rubbing Bill described. Instead, my fender lip (not rolled) would wear into the sidewall. Kinda scarey. If I had enough neg camber, it wouldn't rub. Unfortunately, the day before a DE I let a local p-car shop do an alignment and they took out most of the camber (against my wishes). I subsequently wore my sidewalls to the point where I felt I had to jettison those tires.

I hear you can run 225/50 or 225/45 on 7x15s in back. I just need to find another pair of 7's for track use.

Here's a pic with the 215/60s on 7x15 rear wheels.

There is about 1" from the top of the tire to the top of the fender lip.
205/55/15's on 7x15 fronts

Wow! That is a good looking Targa.

Jim, I'd like to see a more full on side view of your Aubergine coupe. From your camera angle, something about the fronts vs. the rears doesn't look balanced. Beautiful car.

Thanks Milt. Here's a couple of pics that provide a better view, although not a full on side view. The front wheels/tires were 6x15 with 195/65s, rears were 7x15 with 215/60s.
