How do you adjust adjustable spring plates?

I need to adjust the ride height in the rear and I have the oem adjustable plates but how the heck to you adjust them? There is little or no clearence between the tighten nut and the adjustment nut and the body to get in there to loosen and adjust. Is there some trick or special tool I'am missing?
Thanks
