Porsche driver attacked on B/W parkway

http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0604/155550.html
I wish the driver of the Porsche a swift recovery, it is truly a sad thing to hear about.
The attackers should be hung ! This is another reason to call the police immediately in any accident, even if it is a fender bender. You never know what nutcases are out there.

Where I grew up they take care of people like that with ball bats! I think those two Infinity drivers need a nice dose of "country justice".

The driver of the Porsche had better be glad that someone came to his assistance.
Bet the perps get off clean with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Cool

I noticed that an off-duty policeman was in the crowd that "detained" the perps. I don't think they told the guys to "stick around".

I'm with Bill...the whole story isn't in the article.

"I was trying to get their license plate number and accidently ran into them"

The Porsche driver was lucky that people intervened. Bad guys suck. After all is said and done, personal safety is paramount above all. I agree that the story has some holes.

Let the police come in and do their job.

Stay safe, David

David, you must hear this bs all the time. I imagine there are some great "stories" from both sides of any altercation...each claiming "I wasn't doing anything and he just whacked me..."

"I was trying to get their license plate number and accidently ran into them."

So hard that the other car was no longer driveable? I've got to say, I think it was the Porsche driver's PR firm that did the press release for this story.

Road rage is stupid -- I don't care what manufacturer it involves.

Good comments here. I made the mistake of answering wrong when a Highway Patrol schmuck asked me if 'drugs or alcohol were involved' when a lunatic nearly totalled my SUV 10 in an intersection years ago.

I said 'no' and she refused to walk 80 feet to the scene of the accident, so I had to collar witnesses and build the case myself -- and the other guy was clearly at fault, so I came out fine. But there was a collective $15-16K in damage and I couldn't get the 'officer' to walk 80 feet to take a report.

As far as I'm concerned, 'drugs or alcohol' are *always* involved whenever I'm hit again -- hopefully never.

Passed a car the other day in the "fast" lane of a 4 lane highway. He was in an 80's something Chevy. As I passed a hand came out the window and flipped me off. He thought I was going to zoom on by and forget it but instead I pulled into his lane after I passed him and slowed down slowly. I think I scared the crap out him. He wouldn't even pass when I got down to 30mph...just stayed back by 5-10 car lengths.

Kinda cracked me up.

techWeenie - I'm surprised that a state cop didn't follow up. They are the cream of the crop (well, in other ways the FBI, and some univ. campus cops). That surprises me. But be glad you did not lie - it is often a felony to do that to a police officer.

You may want to write the head of the state police and ask what their policy is on this -- explain why you are asking, and see what happens.

Wow, Pari. Now you know why NoVA Dorkis/Pelican attendance is low at events in MD. That really sucks, but others have a good point there's more here than meets than is reported.

When I opened this thread, I half expected a story of a couple of SCWDP thugs beating up some innocent Carrera driver. Looks like we didn't get the whole story here. That part of the B/W Pkwy. is not the best place to show any type of road rage or retaliation. The Park Police are far too busy giving tickets for 60mph in the 55mph zone to come and help you.

Whatever car I'm driving is usually insured by SIG Sauer.

From the article: "........the victim followed the Infiniti to get a license plate number, but lost control and hit the Infiniti." I think a little provocation is at work here. Actually, he might be charged himself for assault with a deadly weapon, his car, along with reckless driving. This ain't over yet.

I think he made a mistake. A description of the car and a DMV database search will reveal all the cars of that nature. One number from the plate will reduce the candidtes considerably, as will each additional factor. No need to crash into someone trying to get the plate no.

There will be no criminal justice, so monentary compensation is the best he can hope for and he may have screwed himself on that.
