Porsche Crest 93/73 RS clone?

Question? Is it possible to re-body a 93 c2 911 into a 73 long nose Carrera RS clone? If so is their any major body modifications that I should be aware of besides the obvious hood, fenders, bumpers deck lid and lamps? Any web sites dedicated in arena? Thanks in advance for your contribution. Kopo.

If you want to run Fuchs, or other deep-dish wheels, you'll have an issue with the newer hubs.

I think this is what I am going to do to my RSA, and the Ultimate Backdate thread has some pictures of the new bolt on parts I have constructed with no cutting welding of any major body components for fitting on 74 and later. The parts include new hood/lightbox-horn grille-fender extension/ S front bumper/ turn signal boxes. OEM parts needed are lenses, grilles, rubber seals 4 bumper and lights. Deco trim optional. I will be painting RCM's car this week. I am sure U have now visited the UBdate thread, new posts by end of week with results.

Damon I did see the quick pic of the insert...looks like it's pretty simple to bolt up on the front...the back will be as simple?

Kopo, I haven't read the links to the earlier threads, so I don't know if this has been mentioned already; but a few years ago Excellence magazine did an artical on this very conversion.

Bill, I just got the latest Excellence last Friday and again there's another backdating article. I think it's an 87 back dating to the early style.

Funny, when I bought my 72' in 2001 I said they don't make early one's anymore- (mmm....must have early Porsche).

I stand corrected.

Anyone know if you can increase the value of an SC by going this route?
