Do you think my car is to low?

I played around with the front end and came to this level, what are your thoughts?

It looks to be slighly lower than 24 inches.

My front is at 24", the rear is at 26"...............at least yours is level.

Scraping/bottoming out can be a problem on poor roads and steep drives.

How does it handle? That's what's it's all about, right?

No, it looks good. But you might want to go for a little more negative cmber in the front.

and of course shave the lips there as well.

That's a little bit lower than mine and if I hit an abrupt bump (especially on the freeway) I do hit the fender lips. I thought the thicker T-bars would be stiff enough to prevent it, but it looks like rolling the front fenders is inevitable.

Normally the front is 1/2-3/4" higher than the rear, but yours is 2" higher in the rear?
Wow, you must be looking straight down at the ground with that rake.

Do you have a side photo on a level surface that you can post?

Drop it another inch or two... then it'll be perfect. There does look like too much gap in the rear wheel wells though.

Gettinheadstuds,

Yeah, it was after I lowered the car, figured it was due to hitting the driveway to fast.

There is no more room for the rear, as it would rub if it went further.

personally , i perfer not lowered
if i would lower it like you did, i would no longer be able to do the country (rally ) roads anymore, and that's where most the fun is
you drive 40 kilometers, but you're still only 10 kilometers from where you started... > great fun but impossible with a lowered car, unless you like the gastank, floor pan, heat exchangers to be scraped clean by road

Looks fine to me. However, a side view would be more revealing.

Your personal driveways and road obstacles take precedence over our opinions.

Lower control arms should be angled downward toward the ball joints. Flat is about as low as I'd go before you encounter strange suspension dynamics. If the inboard pivots are lower than ball-joint pivots...you're too low....assuming you didn't alter spindle height.

As I review this type of thread..no doubt the "looks" are covered when you lower..but there is more than that. Also...how many of us re-aim the headlights after we alter height/rake? The entire car is a "system" and should be looked upon that way...all IMHO, of course

What measurements do you get from the road to the center of the wheel arch?

It looks like you may already be a bit too low and are heading for wheel/fender clearance problems, or at least road clearance problems.

Years ago I had my car lowered to that extent, and, although it looked cool, the ride was way too rough and choppy for the street, and I was always scraping the exhaust on something or other.

Now I am at 25.5" front and 25" rear, and that works well. I suppose I could cheat them both downward another .5".

The ride is better then where it was before, I think the front is at 25 and the rear 25.5.

I think typically your front should be higher by about .5" than the rear. Otherwise the car noses down too much.

You should measure from a level floor up through the center of the wheel to the underside of the arch.

I think the car looks great. Are you happy with how it looks and drives? Is it facing down the driveway which looks to be sloped? That appears to be why it looks lower in the front than it should. This is what mine looks like.

The red car looks nice but needs a profile shot to really judge the rake. I think the silver car is nice too, but that pic looks like it was taken with a wide angle lens, imho it looks like it is level or perhaps a little reverse rake, the nose appears a little high. Might be the camera lens?

I would consider 1 degree max forward rake. A radical rake/ride height choice will only exaggerate the 911s most dangerous trailing throttle over steer characteristics.

looks great to me, Wil Ferch hit the nail on the head with the inner mounts being lower than the ball joints. thats the most important thing for me. i wouldn' t worry too much about bashing the car on stuff-thats just part of running a low car.

You're going to need a bumpsteer kit, the spacer style isn't going to cut it, like the ERP/SRP/Weltmeister. Also you'll probably want to cut the bumpstops down in your front shocks, check out this link from SRP.
