Does a Strosek Speedster hardtop need to be permanently fitted or can it be made to

take on and off like a Mercedes SL roadster?

the clamshell comes off first, then the top attaches. you have to make brackets for the package shelf area, and mount a stud with an adjustable height mount for the B pillar. a bit of an ordeal, and they're too heavy for one person to easily lift it off, so you wouldn't want to swap it every other day.
