Thanks Jack. I ment to say gloss black wheels not flat. I think it will look good with my blacked out chrome trim. I started doing a little work on the suspension tonite. I hope to have it all bolted up by this weekend. With Tysons help of course. What takes me two hours, takes him five minutes.

Very nice!
|
Chef, car is going to look sweet.
|
The project is looking good. Do you have any more pictures of the interior and dash? Despite all the talk about about "real" vs. "faux" RS cars, your car will look nice with the RS decals.
|
I have always really liked the RS and it's cloned counterparts. It seems lately it is being over-done ...but really only on the web, I don't see tom many in my home town of Houston.
I saw your car in it's initial pics and thought, Man that car is really nice don't cut it up. BUT THEN I SAW THE WORKMANSHIP! SIMPLY AWESOME! That is going to be a really nice RS replica. Keep up the good work! I wish we had a shop like TRE Motorsports here in Houston. Good Luck and I hope you finish it on time and sort of within budget. Jay |
You dont see flares going on like that often. Looks to be an old school craftsman.
Nice project and pics. |
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089387521.jpg The car is looking great. Here's a little more inspiration. Those pics are enough to make you GREEN with envy. Looks like Joe (the other Joe) is working hard.

Keep the pictures coming. Great to see a car being done right.
If you could accelerate that schedule a couple weeks you could take it to German Autofest, Aug 11-12. This year the feature is early 911s. It would be great to see your car there. Now get cooking! |
thanks guys!
salazarS2K: I will try and post some pics of the dash, but i bet you that i will be acused of ricing my car. JMZ: The only time I get to see RS and RS replicas is at track events or or the board. I have only seen one RS? driving around L.A. As far as a budget... I didnt have one. Just a dream to build a nice car. I had to forego a new car last year in order to finish this car. Triing to open a business and invest into a toy is very difficult. Chuck Mooreland: Thanks for all your great parts! They fit beutifully. I might make it there. I need Dave B to make me an RSR rollbar for me so i can have some belts in the car. I need to order some seats as well. I was thinking recaro SPG. BTW. Im off for a week. NO COOKING! World superbike this weekend at leguna seca. All of our bike buddies are going. If im not too tired i might leave sat night for sundays race. Ill post some pics of the suspension later! Thanks! |

Joe has no excuse now, we want to see the car there. |
Ill be there Chuck. Here is some more pics of your bushings on my powder coated front end. Tyson also welded some tabs on the a arms for 964 brake deflectors. I also got some smart racing rotor deflectors.I also have to thank Kevin P from Automotive restorations for the powdercoating.

Its so nice to just send all the black metal on the car out for powder. Its really a worth while expense. It comes back like new!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089411950.jpg Here are ny no frills carbon fiber dash panels. Say what you want, but I like them. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089412041.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089412083.jpg Last but not least, here is a pic of a used RSR narrow body front bumper that i bought from TRE. It was tracked to hell but I cleaned it up pretty well. It needs a little more glass repair. Who the heck cares. Its a track piece. The street bumper is a RS type. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089412325.jpg |
This is great! Awesome craftsmanship! So many Viper green cars coming out now..I'm getting tempted to go home and strip (more) and repaint mine in the original Viper Green!! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/beerchug.gif

70s colors are really great. My next choice would have been signal orange but my friend rob has a 69 and tyson is going to paint his car signal orange.
|
Here is a couple of shots from Rob Dickinsons signal orange 69. Another TRE car. I love this car! It actually inspired me to totally restore my car to an early 70s hotrod!

Stop Joe, you're killing me!! I was already up half the night last night thinking about powder coating and zinc plating because we got Leonard's BEAUTIFUL 73 911S Targa running. You should come by and see it all together, it's awesome.
|
Hey Jeremy,
I saw it last night. Looks pretty good. I like the original yellow 70S. It would make a nice daily driver.(for me) |
Joe, Rob's '69 is Bahama Yellow, not Signal orange. But it is an inspiring car!
You're car looks great in the pics! And just as good in person too. It'll be a fun project for both of us. Looks like your car can be done for Ventura, and I'll have my new '69 in time for ventura as well. Cool! |
