Your car is pretty much perfect in my opinion. The Dreamporsche over all dreamporsches. It's close to perfection. I'd pick an arctic silver 993 4S with black interior over a 996/997 any time!

There was an early widebody, sort of ST look car posted here several months ago, it was sort of a sage/forest green. One of the most beautiful cars I've seen here and some inspiration for my 69 project.

Anyone remember or have pics of it?

IMHO, this is probably the best look ever for a 911, but should be really low with 16s hugging the wells so that the car looks like it's crouching, ready to pounce. A 50-60's period color, like Heron Grey (just a touch of smoky blue) will really set it off. Very clean outside with simple S or standard front bumper, no trim at all, then a 356 wine-colored interior, early green guages... I've been thinking about this way too much.

Who wants to buy the E so I make this car live?
:)

Shaun, those are some amazing color combos you listed. Since my speedo was broken, I've even considered changing that one gauge to the early green style too. Not sure why, I just like the look. Probably not as legible, but then I don't look at the speedo much anyway. Sage green would look great.

Hey remember "LELAND PATE" ammo project:

Dave,
so does this mean you will buy my 69E so I can properly fund this project? ;)

gorgeous car.

81turboporsche 10-07-2008 02:53 PM

one mean piece of machinery, whats the gt30r turbo? actually im afraid to ask

spence88mph 10-07-2008 03:07 PM

thanks guys! The car has a protomotive stage 1 turbo kit, the GT30 is a ball bearing turbo, it's great, no lag and 360 crank horsepower. The car has a rear valance now so you can't see all the 'junk' hanging down below. How you see it is how the car was delivered sans spoiler (except for the turbo stuff).

spence88mph 10-07-2008 03:10 PM

Also this give a good look at the car (before turbo)

sigh and i really like the junk in the trunk

Facey 10-07-2008 05:46 PM

i'm a fan of wide

wheels many feel are on the large size, though it really only appears to be the case in pictures: anyways, its semi-modern looking, wide, and w/o a tail!

really dirty:

note: the plexi glass grill was only used at that show'n'shine... was still trying to decide what to do, that was ver 2, ver 1 has enough air flow but doesn't look as good, this one i don't think would let enough air in... i know use an R-style grill... no pictures sadly enough....

sorry for some of the picture sizing...dunno what happened there, my saved files seem to be only the downsized copies...

i really do need some better pictures... but the idea is there.

spence88mph 10-07-2008 09:43 PM

great stuff, looks like you've put a lot of love into it and created something unique.

the plexi grill would almost get sucked in! When I saw it it made me feel I was having a asthma attack!

81turboporsche 10-08-2008 02:24 AM

thats the slantnose front lip right?

Facey 10-08-2008 07:31 AM

ya 930s from somewhere like MA shaw or getty...i forget to be honest... its not crooked either, i know the final pick makes it look somewhat outta wack...

o drove the car for about 2 weeks w/o a decklid, also didn't have the rear valance on... that was fun, talking about leaving your balls hanging on...

some guys in the local clib actually loved it like that, said i was cool seeing the engine spinning away when i passed them (not speeding, just passing).
