how do I install stone guards?

Do I have to remove the rocker panels to install the stone guards or can I affix them just above? How did you put yours on?

I removed the rear screws holding the rocker in. I needed to partially remove the rubber piece in the rocker as well, although only maybe 18 inches of it.

You only need to peel back about 6-8 inches of the rubber rocker trim. Mix a (mild) solution of soap and water in a spray bottle. Clean the area where the guards will go. Spray area with soapy water. Peel the backs off the guards, spray with soapy water, and apply to the fender. Position the guards where you want them on the fender and then use a plastic bondo knife to force out the soap and water from under the guard. Works like a charm!!!

I second JP911's guidance for installing the stone guards - that is exacting the method I used and it worked perfectly. This was a very minor project that really changed the appearance of my car.

Use the magnitized version. You can remove them for cleaning or if you just get tired of them.
