How do you store your unfolded targa top?

I keep mine unfolded behind the seats standing up. I heard some people can keep their's in the trunk unfolded. I can't fit mine in that way. Anyone got pics of this?

If you have a Targa without the power booster the top will fit in the front trunk unfolded. I think all the federal SC's that came to the States came with power assisted brakes.

Earlier 911s such as my old 1974 coupe didn't have power brakes, but you needed to have a strong leg to stop the car quickly.

I store mine unfolded installed on the car. And folded in the trunk when taken off for driving. What's the big deal... why leave it behind?? It won't do you any good in the garage if it rains???

Keep it flat, unfolded in your back seat, garage, in your bed, just don't fold it, those creases don't go away!

I keep mine behind the seats. However I do collapse the top so that it doesn't scratch the sides. I also have two little porsche pillow/head rests purchased off of ebay that I use on the bottom so that I don't scratch the bottom of the seats. This is a great compromise so that I can take my top if necessary and save on the wear and tear of not totally collapsing/folding in any way.

A great idea but, between my high seatbacks and the rollcage, this is pretty much impossible...ask me how I know!

no video at hand, but it's pretty easy

unclip the latches
pop the front out
move the front over the support
the back end will now fall out on the headrests
grab hold of it , and let it slide behind your seats

under 10 seconds

getting it back up
grab the edge of the roof inbetween the seats
rais and stretch your arm
pull it so it ends up with back end on headrests
grab it with both hands on each side ( easier with windows rolled down)
wach the back pins in their holes
pull down the roof on the latches
from the inside, pull down and secure latches

30 secs ( quicker is possible, but frequent practice is required)

EDIT
it might not work if your a 2meter15 basketball player or have your seat all the way to the back

I keep the rear seats folded down. The targa gets folded up and sits nicely on the folded rear seat. Its all new covering....the creases are non-existant.

Not just the SC's... my 77 911S has the power assist too (I think it was the first year).
