I am updating my A/C system on my 82 SC. I installed the compressor with no problems, see the below pics.
![]() ![]() So then I went to install my new Dryer, see the below pic. ![]() I located the OEM one and took off my front left wheel and there it was, what the heck is it? Is this the dryer? ![]() It looks different than any of my other 911 dryers. Is this because this SC has both the front and rear condensors? This one has four lines coming out of it and the new one only has 2. Now what do I do?

Procooler. It's an aftermarket recever/dryer that is a subcooler as well. Has a lot of advantages over the stock unit. Lower vent temps and decreased head pressure. I'd keep it.

What make/model no is that new compressor? I've got the same thing in mind and haven't decided what make to buy to replace the York anchor.

Is that item in his picture with XH-7 on it, is a PROCOOLER? I have a case of these around here some where.

That's what I suspect. I have a Procooler on mine and the is similiar to the hose config. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find other pictures.

Mark,
Wow, so I actually have something better already! That is a first, I feel like I just won the lottery! So if it has this I wonder how old all of my lines are and if I should still replace them or if I should just get the system evacuated and leak checked. I am planning on filling it with Freeze 12. What do you think? And to answer the other Mark's question: My compressor is a Sanden. I am not sure what model it is. I can check later and get back to you.

I'd love to be able to help, but I just don't know what the right course is for you. I put the procooler on an otherwise stock system charged with Freeze 12 and got 40 degree vent temps. Best of luck.
