does A/C come stock with a 1977 911S?

Nope. A/C was made standard for US models starting with the 1980 model year. You could get dealer installed aftermarket A/C in the older ones.

It was not standard for 1977, but was certainly a factory option. Many dealers installed aftermarket units also to keep from stocking as many AC fitted cars.

From what I've read, the aftermarket A/C cost much less than the factory install.
