the club filled the august schedule with their stuff, so i had to pick an earlier date that wouldn't have a track day, or something else interferring with attendance.

still not quite in the swap meet price range. 1/2 tread tires aren't really worth much, so you have 4 polished wheels for $1800, which will be a hard sell. $1200 is probably closer to reality. i see lots of high priced parts going home with the owner. price them to sell.

Thanks for the tip.

I assumed the tires were half-tread, as I didn't measure them originally. They are relatively new.

Do you know what the tread depth would be if they were new?

Regards,

not really, it's pretty much how close they're getting to the tread bars.

A huge thank you to Mr. Walker! some great cars, terrific people and hot deals. I took my 11 year old son so he could enjoy the event and he fell in love with several of the member's cars... JW's bugster was very cool too!
I walked away from the swap meet with a 911 steering rack in great condition for $10, a plastic air cleaner housing for my 72 2.4 with MFI for, yep, $10!!
I also picked up a valve cover gasket kit from JW.
The only thing I forgot was to see if I could find "mukilteo911" and buy one of his famous valve adjustment feeler gauges!

Now that's what I call a swap meet. Good score!

Some disassembly time, a few tablespoons of moly grease, and reassembly is all you need to make that rack smooth and new again.

Agreed, a hearty thank you to JW for organizing a great event. As always, the socializing/car gazing was nearly as good as the buying and selling of parts.

Skip, I enjoyed meeting you. And your son is incredible. I've never met such a young guy who is so knowledgeable about early 911's. By the way, you got the parts from me. I'm happy that the bits have gone to a great home.

Cheers, Chris
