How should it shift?
I have a '74 that I am breaking in and have put about 120 miles on it. It has a rebuilt engine (2.7), rebuilt transmission (915), and a new clutch kit. I have never driven the car before and have never driven a 911 before. How should it shift? With past standards I have driven they seem to fall in to gear and this seems like I engage it in to gear. I have read the 101 book about adjusting the clutch. At idle, it does not scratch going in to reverse. But, do you think I should adjust the clutch a little or is this just typical 911 driving?
Any thoughts would be appreciated! -Stephen |

Put on a few hundred more easy miles, swap in some fresh Swepco, and then adjust that clutch again while you're at it. The shift will never be silky smooth, but that point will be a better comparison than where you're at now.
