Drop link Drama! help!

I have a broken rear sway bar drop link....

So upon recommendation I order Tarret Adjustable Rear Drop Links.

They show up and I get under the car and remove the broken drop link and then grab one of the adjustable ones....

In my typical (for me) retarded fashion I don’t have the manual yet (just bought the car) and I have no idea how to install them.

now that I look at it .....its seems I have a 1977... and I think I have the drop links for the 78-xx "for use with 78-89 911 factory swaybars"

Dam.... what’s pelicans return policy? and what links should i get?

Help! thought i would also throw some picture up so you can all gawk at how retarted i am.

I have a Weltmeister rear bar but looking at your pictures, it looks like you have a similar drop link setup. The end with the odd casting replaces your spring plate adjusting eccentric and then the other end should have a slider of some sort to attaches to the bar. You appear to be missing the slider part that connects the link to the sway bar.

Heres a shot of my rear setup:

Hi,

I bought my Weltmeister Bars Used and they came with all the parts I needed. You should note that my car is a '73 and the bar was not hard to install.

You have two options: Get the slider part and try to make it work (you bars have an extra bend at the end that mine are missing) or get the correct part that is an exact replacement.

Weltmeisters have those sliders, but that is not applicable in this case.

The Tarett drop links are not designed to be used with your sway bar. 78+ sway bars are a different design, they have holes in the bar to attach the drop links.

You could obtain a '78+ sway bar and use the tarett links, or you could get a factory drop link instead of the taretts.

Chucks assessment is correct. The adjustable drop links are designed to work with the 78 and later rear swaybars. There’s a nice set, front and rear on Ebay. The larger size would be a nice upgrade for your car.
