Targa Frame Problem...Please Help

my targa top is great except for one thing. The back supporting bar wont lock in place. I've tried everything. I took off the clips to see if they were getting in the way and they were not. This whole issue causes excess rattling and the back side of the top sticks up a little because its not fully locked in.

It may be that the rear clips are too far forward (towards front of car) Loosent the clips, lock the bar and slide clips snug onto the bar and tighten them down.

The tightness of the locking mechanism has to do with the clips as stated above, but also with the skin. That is, the skin needs to be tight on the frame overall. That forces the "lockover" and keeps everything tidy.

When was the last time you reskinned your top? Might consider doing this.

John

PS: I see you own a Mercedes?
