Yes I am! I can actually see the wiring harness and all the other goodies in the trunk. I am going to put the new front suspension in this weekend. Then i will finsh the wiring, plug in the juice and see how many fuses i pop and go from there. I did label everything before i took it apart but some of the labels came off.

Man i hate putting all the components back knowing that im just adding unwanted wieght. Do we actually need wipers in southern cali! Anyway, here is a shot of the nice and clean engine bay.

I think you'll find that paint doesn't stick to the pot metal that recieves the rubber seal. No biggie.

Also, you _could_ put in a 944 wiper/motor assy. for driver only - Jim Calzia did that in his light wt. car.

Anything is better than what I had. Its a cheap paint job but at least its all one color. Good paint was not in my budget. If was, I would have brought it to Kevin P at automotive restorations. Anyway its a track car. It just has to look good from 30 feet away and traveling...

I decided to tackle the front suspension tonite. I couldnt stand to see that 914 front suspension on the car anymore. Thank you Dave B from TREMOTORSPORT.COM for the use of it while my car was gettig painted. Also thank You Kevin p for the use of the 914 wheels.

Luckily Tyson Schmidt is in NY picking up his new 69 or he would not let me work on my car. Its more his baby than mine. With that said I was able to figure out the best way to do it. I think!

Step1
Assemble rack to cross member. Properly torque and use blue locktight. I greased the tortion bars and put them in the control arms. I had to tap in the cotrol arm to the cross member because i had the arms powdercoated. More for protection than looks.

Step2
I didnt want to scratch anything so i assembled everything on cardboard and slid it under the car. I proped up one side and started bolting up the other side leaving all bolt loose til everything was boltedup. Then I tightened everything up.

step3
install struts.

Well thats about as far as I got tonite.

Thanks James. I talked to Tyson on Friday. Sounded like he was enjoying the NY weather. I would have went if I had the time. NY is my home town and thats my neck of the woods. I was hanging out in Hells Kitchen when it was Hells Kitchen. You had to fight your way into a bar and fight your way out. Now that all the Yuppies moved in they renamed it "Clinton".

Thats how I remember Mr. O'webb. It was actually affordable by NY stadards to live there about 10 years ago. A 2 bedroom went for about 1200.00 a month. 1500sq ft . Those were the days! Prostitutes walking the streets, drug dealers on the corner, and not a cop in site! I dont miss one bit of it. You guys can keep it all!

Its sunday and I just finished the front suspension. Cleaned evertything that neede cleaning and painted what was needed.I had to make a bracket for the horns. The stock ones must have wieght 5 pounds. I cleaned up the lights and housings and assembled them. I also cleaned up some of the overspray in the wheel weels where it was noticeable

The tie rod ends took me some time. I wanted to measure the exact center of the steering, then insert the tie rods into the spindles. I did an alaignment by eye for now untill i can get it to the shop. looks pretty good. I also centered the steering wheel.

So I go and put the front wheels on and after give the wheels a spin. MMM, very tight and making sharp grinding noises. Then i dawned on me that my spindle were raised and the ball joint hits the bottom of the wheel. No big deal because it not going anywhere. 17 wheels are on the way.

I finished off by putting on the front grill pieces, porsche emblem, and a few little things. I have to say that I am liking the way that it is starting to look. Anyway that was the prgress for the day.

Tomorrow is the alaignment of the front bumper and the wiring in the rear of the car.

Looking at these pictures here is the best motivation for me to go look for a better job I must move to CA and build me a nice early 911 and actually get to drive it - unlike in Philly where this summer had been nothing but rain, humid and ... more rain. And then Fall will come and...
Oh well, GREAT car and GREAT color!!! My fav for sure :P

It worked for me!Ladies arent too bad either. Best Ive seen anywhwere actually. Also where else do you see million dollar cars parked at meters and being valeted.

Wow, looks great! You are doing a fantastic job of cleaning things up as you reassemble. That is the way that I like to do it as well, then drive it and enjoy it w/ regular old washings. It'll stay nice for a long time. Nice work!
