I merely copied and pasted the same link you initially posted, and the BB appeared to handle it fine. It shows no 16" PS2, but does show the Pilot Exalto PE2 in that size at the $124 price you cited. When I search the TR site independent of your link for all 205/55/16 Michelin products, I get the same page that you linked to, (26 options) again with no PS2's:

The only reason I ask is that, based on the results shown below from the comparison test that Tom linked to, the PS2 appears to better the SO3 in almost all measurable categories. (BTW, who added the Eagle RS-A to that test? Talk about bringing a knife to a gunfight...)

I currently have 17" S03's on several cars and love them, and have never considered another purely street tire over the past few years. The PS2 looks tempting, though.

If indeed the the PS2 is available in 16" sizes, then it obviously becomes an option for Fuchs and relevant to a lot more pre-'89 owners as an S03 alternative.(or, Randy's initial question...) But, unless I'm missing something, I still can't see anywhere, either from Michelin directly or Tire Rack, that any 16" PS2 is currently available.

Interesting results, Tim. Looks like the Goodyear is just a tad better also.

BTW, my interest is in 15" tires - not 16's.

I have no idea what I am doing differently than others but I seach on Tire Rack for 205/55x15, Michelin only and get several pages with the new Pilot PE2 on the first page. From there I can select the PE2 and then "Sizes and Prices". That page shows 2, 15" sizes; 2, 16" sizes; and 5, 17" sizes. Other originating seach criteria produces different results. I'll call TR next week and see if the 205/55x16 is really available.

I have the S03's on my Audi and they have performed well, with good dry and wet (LOL, this is SoCal) grip; however, they are indeed quite noisy and apparently the sidewalls are pretty stiff so there is a ride quality compromise compared to some other tires.

They also don't last a helluva long time, so I think I'll be trying some Michelin PS2's soon! I drive 40+ miles of canyon roads a day, which is a bit tough on tires, esp. in a heavy and torquey car.

I just changed to the SO3s on my old 87 911. It was an incredible upgrade from my old Michelins.

That seems to be a personal opinion. It's definately a little bit more noisy that routine passenger car tires. Maybe a good reference would be mid-way between quiet pass car tires and loud street&track tires.

The sidewalls in my 16"/S-03 is definately more than the somewhat soft RE-71s. I like it stiff, but I also like Welt susp bushings. There must be a correlation between the transmitted tire harmonics and the lettered tire rating?

fwiw, I rode la la land's west side for 4 weeks and my '88 911 owner brother and Myself quickly concluded that the Welt bushings and S-03s were a big ng.. but the Welt bushings and RE-71s were doable with a decently stiff amount of transmitted harmonics on other visits. So if you really want S-03s and tight suspension buy real nice sheepskin seat covers imo.

I have never driven S-03's, So I can't comment, I am sure they are awesome, I have new Yoko ES100's and for the price are a great tire. Very predictable, very nice feel, I REALLY have to push it to out-drive these tires....If money is an object...you should really consider these.....The new Avon tire looks kinda cool, really early to tell but that may be one to consider as well.
