Big red warning light
![]() http://dtmotorsports.com/products/bigredlight/ Has anyone ever modified one of these to work as a warning for more than just oil pressure? Like a combo cylinder head temp, oil temp, oil level, and oil pressure warning light? |

Sherman,
The three critical issues are: Oil pressure – you have to get your foot off the gas and on the clutch ASAP. Don’t ever let the clutch back out to see if it will restart. Fan belt – you need to get out of the gas and coast to a stop. Fuel pressure – you need to stop for fuel soon. Most like to have warning lights positioned close to their normal vision and in proximity to the same function gauge. I have a 35 PSI oil pressure switch (917 P/N) that comes on below about 4000 RPM. Under extreme revs, cornering, and braking I can get it to light briefly. I also have a fuel pressure switch that starts to occasionally light in corners when the fuel gets low. The goal is to give some advance warning. Has anyone had one of the instrument shops install some really bright LED warning lights in the stock instruments and maintain stock appearing? I like my analogue quartz clock. BTW, what is with that sand blasted pedal assembly? Best, Grady
