Cruise not working

81 911SC since i bought it the cruise control has not worked. I was told the previous owner had replaced the brain unit for the cruise. Where would a person start to figure out what is wrong with it?

I'd start by typing in a search for "cruise control" in the search button field.

how do i try the search, when i tried it on the blue bar i only got cruise control parts?

I spent thousands(literally) trying to keep mine going. It's a losing battle and probably not worth the effort.
