Help Diagnose "New" Clutch Problem

Driving to work today in 5th gear doing about 80mph constant throttle ( not accelerating ) the car would suddenly slow down like it lost power and the rpms would jump from 3000 - 5000. This all happened very quick. The car would catch again and off we went. The engine didn't stumble or hestiate.

To me it sounds like the clutch is going. The issue is the clutch plate is new - 800 miles . It's a stock sachs spring centered unit. It was installed when I had the 3.6 installed. ( I know I should have gone with a stronger clutch)

I know what you're thinking..big new engine ..he abused that clutch. I'm tellin you I didn't. I spent so damn much money on the conversion I've been afraid to hammer it - can't afford to break anything.

It happened about 4-5 times in the last 15 minutes of my 35 minute drive. On the way home it only happened once.

What's the thought?? Clutch disk or something else??

New disk, But what about the pressure plate? Is the rear seal leaking getting the disk wet?

seal was my first thought too

OR if your still running the 915 you could have the clutch cable too tight and she is holding your pressure plate slightly. As the disc has worn in, the marginal tolerances are opening up and letting it slip.

Got the car back today. Looks like it was a bad pressure plate. Should have replaced everthing during the swap. Lesson Learned.

Now it's got a new Sachs Power Clutch. Parts Labor$$$
