NEed help diag a problem

ok so im out driving the pcar today and im on the highway its been a good 5 min since i started driving things are going fine. SO i get on the high way and get into 4th and then floor it feeling like some fun well i hit about 4500 and the thing just starts wanting to jerk the shifter keeps jerking its self when i give the car any gas over 3000 so i think man the clutch went out so i put it up into fifth and its even worse so i dont think its a problem with the clutch so i pull off the freeway and take it into a parking lot right now im really worried that its going to die and it just about does. SO im all freaking out thinking its some thing big. NOw i thought it was an alternator problem and such or maybe a battery problem. SO i turn the car off and i let it sit for like 4-5 min. THink ill try to start to try it again start it up and it runs fine having problems with the throttle return spring so im gonna have to replace that but on the way home i take some back streets and i dont have any problems at all i even get it up in fourth again and its not there. Now im kinda worried because im not sure exactly what the problem is. I think its electrical???? the car was still warming up though.......... and it may have been me just wanting to take it up a little too high to fast

Need some opinions

Jose, how long has it been since the fuel filter was changed? Cars jerk like that when they are starved for gas. When you got on it, it sounds like it ran out of gas. On the side streets, you didn't hammer it, so it had enough fuel pressure to run smooth.

Somtimes it's the simple things. Just a thought.

Jose,

I agree with Milt, those are classic symptoms.
I'll bet you have muck in your gas tank or something related.

Best,
Grady
