Sounds like your synchros are going bad...which is fairly common. How many miles are on in your tranny/car? You can try a couple of other things first, but I'm thinking your due for a rebuild.

The "couple of other things to try" would be:

1.) You can replace your shifter bushings, which you can acquire directly from our host.

2.) You can try changing the gear oil in your case and putting in Swepco 201, which our host also carries.

Stick around here and you're sure to collect a few more responses, but I'm pretty sure it will be one of the three things I've mentioned that will cure your problem.

Oh yeah, btw, I gave you a link in your other post that tells you all about my own experience with this issue. Here it is again.

You can also do a search on this board for more information.

good luck!

Randy

Again, might be synchros; outside chance the clutch needs adjustment.

Until the gearbox comes out, try double-clutching. Minimizes need for synchro action. There are plenty of threads on this pro-con issue (con is a mystery to me).

If you have to replace the synchros, do all of them. Sometimes folks try to save by changing just the worn ones and end up going in again to finish the job. Synchro prices are @ $25 -$35 each.

Ps. If you have LSD, have it shimmed to 80% lock, it chatters a tad in tight turns, but will catapult you out of the corners.
