				 | front bumper for early 's'
I have a 1967 911 S RHD, which is in good original condition, however the bumper is getting pretty rusty now, I am interested in what the options are, my mechanic has suggested that an R or RS bumper would be a good upgrade... although I don't know what either of these would look like.. it has been suggested that a new bumper may improve the handling also... any thoughts? where can i order one in the uk? How fast do you usually go? The "S" type F bumper will help aerodynamics. You can get fiberglass and save some wt. but that is not a critical end of the car to save wt. on. I personally think the early bumpers look better than the ones that hang down.... but I have a fiberglass "S" type bumper on mine. | ||

Weight loss on the SWB will be an issue. The factory went as far as adding extra weight to the front end in 67. I'd go the stock steel bumper or the S steel bumper. The RS just wouldn't look right on a SWB car. To go FG you'd have to start lightening the rear as well to compensate. Last option is GO "R" WITH IT BABY!

That is true, but the usual comment from PAg's people is that this intial try was not very effective and they found better ways to deal with the -- shall we say -- "spin inducement." But one of those ways was the LWB cars. I'd probably fit a steel S bumper -- if you can afford one....

I've got the '72-'73 steel S bumper on my '67 S. I like the looks of it. I'm out of town right now but I'll send you a picture in a couple of weeks if you're interested in seeing it.
