Information Overload on Tire Size

I have searcherd and been overloaded with information.
I have an 84 911 NON Turbo look. I have 7x16 Fuchs on the rear and 6x16 on the front. I would like to run a larger tire. What is the biggest I can run with out rubbing or fender modifications. I am particularry interested in rear tire size. The car presently sits low I do not want to raise it. Any help or pointers to other links would be greatly appreciated.

With 7 & 8" wheels you can run 225/50-16 in the front and 245/45-16 in the rear. With your 6 & 7", I believe you are limited to 205/55-16 front and 225/50-16 rear.

Go to Tire rack and look at the specs for the tires you are interested in, it will list the wheel widths.
