Planning for emissions

Found some very clean exhaust manifolds the other day while in Florida. The question is will 930 211 029 01 (heat exchanger from an 84 to 89 911) fit a 3.0 SC.

I have early style SSi's with a two in one out setup right now. In anticipation of moving to a smog state I was trying to put together a legal system. Including a cat.

Another issue is the cat that I found in the junk pile is part no 930 113 228 01. Appears that this is off of a 78-79 SC. It has no O2 sensor but I think that there is room to put a bung on it for a sensor.

If this scheme doesn't work or will not fit my SC, somebody make me an offer I can't refuse. As a side note the owner of a pretty respectable Porsche shop here in ATL just told me that this setup could only be from a turbo. Nice guy but I think he works on too many water pumpers. Here is a pic

Those look like a 78/79 system. I hope that's what you have or else you'll need a later system to pass.

The exchangers are 84 to 89 and the cat is 78/79 like you say but they fit together fine. I'm still trying to figure out my options

Might help if we knew what year car we are talking about. It makes a big difference what smog you might need.

Chuck,

Here are the pics of my cat... Exactly what you need... It has approx 65,000 miles on it...

Geof

BTW... the mechanic is smoking crack... Stock exhaust on 82+ cars... (except the cat)
