Another clutch pedal goes to the floor thread...

I've searched the archives, and read most of the threads on this topic, but I couldn't find any that match my problem.

While driving in third gear, I go to shift into second gear and the clutch pedal drops to the floor. I heard no grinding sounds or any pops. I limp the car back home, and proceed to check the usual culprits.

Roll pin is fine, clevis and pin are fine, the cable is still connected at the tranny, and the omega spring looks good. The tolerances are fine, it just apears to be no tension being applied to the cable.

The clutch along with all the other components is only 3,000 miles old, the clutch cable and helper spring 3,500 miles old. I'm out of time and have to head back to work soon, so I won't be able to do anymore untill at least Friday. Any suggestions?

-Did you replace the throwout fork with the clutch?
-Can you check the firewall area where the cable exits the tunnel at the rear?

I broke a clutch fork once recently and had similar symptoms. Cheap part, lots of labour to repair.

I'm back from work and will take a look again in the am. I'm afraid it's the fork but I'm praying that it's just a sticking control arm.

Alright it turns out it's the roll pin in the pedal assembly. It looked like it was still good, but it was sheared in two.

Carrera.

Don from CT and I talked about it yesterday, and he said it was most likely damaged right before I replaced the clutch, due to the extra effort requirred to engage the clutch. I had just been driving around on borrowed time.
