My 6000th post, I really dont know what to say.
Maybe I shouldn't say anything at all.......some people might like that
![]() Some musings: This puts me in a catagory with only one other user........and you know it would have to be MikeZ ![]() I never would have thought that buying a 914 to revive a lifelong hobby of racing would have brought me here and to become such a blogger. Previous to discovering Pelican, I owned three other Porsches, in order, a '72 914 for many years and bought it back from my first wife and gave it to my second wife to drive as a daily. A '77 Targa that was really my second wife's car, but I made it so nice she wouldn't drive it. Hence, the 914 2nd go round. A '60 356B normal that I picked up at Pomona and kept a short while and sold because it was not a good car. But, it left a desire to own another. Reading here over the last 3 years brought me further and further back to the 911. This board is the best there is and you know it. I couldn't keep from straying over from the 914 BBS and chiming in where I probably had no business other than being a former and surrogate Targa owner. I decided mainly because of this interaction to get another 911. Hence, the current S I own. More on this board: I have met many Pelicans and corresponded with many, many more. Some I feel I know well although I've never met them in person. Almost to the last one, the best group of people I would ever care to know. The runs and events that have been initiated here have been a blast. Everyone has a fantastic time each and every time. Is that cool or what? Can you say that about anything else? I mean, if you play golf, is every round that much fun? I like these people better than my own family, hah! My car: I have no doubt been influenced big time by the cars here. I probably otherwise wouldn't know really what to do to keep my interest in a particular car. But the example of workmanship and ideas that come forth everyday are truely inspiring to make a better and individualistic machine. I have drifted off towards the R Gruppe car attitude and hope to soon bring forth my version. The parts are here, I just gotta get off this chair and got to work. (You guys know I can actually do some work now and then )So, those are my random thoughts for a 6000th post. Thanks to everyone for their patience with me when I get weird, thanks to Wayne for providing this productive and cohesive forum and thanks to all that take their time to reflect, anayze, crticize, report, retort, rant or just plain compliment the other guys/gals. A special thanks to the likes of JW, Warren, Bill V and the like (you know who you are and I can't name everyone, but you are all in the same class act) for the valuable and sometimes obscure information that is really the core of the board. I guess I better sign off and go to work........................thanks again. --Milt |

Reminds me of when I joined Rennlist back in early 1999.....before discovering the Pelican list. I've posted about 6,000 times over there too .. ;-)

Reminds me of an old Albert Collins song: "You Talk Too Much".
Just kidding of course ! This place is pretty cool, and although I'm still very much a novice, I'd probably not even own a 911 if I hadn't discovered this site.

Don't you guys ever shut up?
Seriously, thanks to all of you for your input, and Wayne, for making this possible.

I also want to thank you for all the wise advice you've dished out.
But really, you shouldn't spend so much time on the computer - there are all sorts of wackos there. Keep on posting; John

Doing the math....
6,000 posts took an average of 2 minutes apiece.. 12,000 minutes is 200 hours of posting... 200 hours is 5 full work weeks... 1.25 months worth of posts! Congratulations!
