color of reverse light wire (77 Carrera 3.0)

Least of my problems but does anyone know the color of the reverse light wire that goes to the fuse box on a 77 911 3.0?

Thanks,

David

Green with a yellow stripe. Note that this wire runs through the 14-pin connector to the engine wiring harness and then to the backup light switch on the front of the tranmission. Are you blowing the fuse? Cheers, Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks that gives me an idea. I'll check to see if the power is getting to the pin (I know which one it is). If there is power to the pin, the problem is between pin, switch and lights. If not, problem is between fuse and pin and power to fuse. Fuse is ok.

Thanks again.

David

If the engine has been dropped separately from the tranmission sometime in the past there is a possibility the wires to the switch were pulled apart and a repair effected which has now failed. Jim

I think the wire might have just popped out on the fuse. I'll see tonight. The light didn't work when I got the car because of first, no pin in tranny. Fixed that still no light. I ran new wire from pin to switch and it worked.

I was meddling near the fuse box recently so I probably just disconnect for somehow. I disconnected the left side tail light, front bumper lights and euro lights around the same time. Fortunatley I got those working last night.

David

Thanks again.
