Header - Oil line backdating ?

I have a 83 SC that I am installing headers ( European Racing) - it will be a track car. I just got my dual in dual out muffler and unless i am missing something it looks like I have to replace metal oil line ( one that wraps around rear of engine) - the right side ( passenger) header pipe extension lines up perfectly with the middle of the metal oil line.

Can someone confirm my fears.

What parts do i need: ( I have a front oil cooler)

c-107-739-10 &
C-107-729-10 ( with front oil cooler) - pelican parts describes this as both w/ & w/o front oil cooler on the SSI page and in the desc.??

Or is it c-107-728-00?

THanks

Earl

Thanks everyone for the replies. Bill great diagram.

Just order the oil lines form our host.

If you don't mind, two more questions.

1. Can I use heat in removing the current metal oil iine on the engine? It is org and clearly has not been removed. Started the ZEP treaments and will tackle removing thios weekend. Heat would be a great help, but not sure if safe.

2. The new oil on the engine, does this go on top or bottom of engine/trans?? I think I remember discussions about this?

Thanks

Earl

Earl you can use heat, but I will be surprised if the nut is frozen where the line attaches to the engine.

I've got a flex line that runs over the tranny, and I've seen them before. Another option is to carefully bend the existing line upward, with the bend placed roughly at the center of the engine, under the pulley. It's the cheapskate method, but it has worked. Best method is to get the part from Pelican and do it right.

Careful with the Thermostat, the nut will not come off easy. Recommend to cut the nut with a Dremel since it is scrap anyway. That way the Thermostat is not damaged.

If you end up damaging the threads on the thermastat, there is a thermastat thread saver that works amazingly well. I am speaking from painfully personal experience
