Would you consider LSD a must have option for a Carrera 3.2?
Or is it not that big a deal?

Yes, If I planned on driving autocross & track.
No, If I was only tooling around town at the speed limit on nice days. Keep in mind that the LSD can wear out, then it is basically an open differential. So if the miles are high, it may need to be rebuilt to remain functional.

If you are using it just for a fun car, NO I have found that there is more than enough for that, sometimes scary! If you want to have a racer, you have to get really serious. LSD< would be a must, but if it is only on the street, and occasional DE, X's why bother.

As Alan points out, the clutch-type LSD has a limited lifespan. Most of the 911 owners enjoying their factory LSD don't really have it.
