Cylinder miss....no spark....please help!!
MY car (82sc) was only running on 5 cylinders when I started it up to run some errands Saturday. I determined that it was the #2 cyl. (driver's side, middle). I changed the spark plug, to no avail. Then I put in another new plug....no difference. Since then, here's what I've done:
* put a brand new wire on, thinking it was a connector * changed #2 & #3 cylinder wires and their corresponding positions at the distributor...miss still occurs on #2. * cleaned contact points in the distributor and on the rotor If I pull a running cylinder off of the distributor, I'll see it arc, but no such thing with #2 cylinder wire if I disconnect it from the distributor. All components are only about a year old and the car is always kept in a good state of tune. Any ideas? Steve

Sounds like something is up with your distributor cap based on the no-arcing description. Do you still have the old one to test with?
