Starter noise
I just found this forum and it's great. On my 84 911, immediately after I start the engine, there is a noise that sounds like I tried to start it again with the motor running. It seems to happen less after the engine has been running, warmed up. I'm wondering if the starter is hanging up.. It never fails to start. Am I due for a new starter, or is there a way to clean up the beast..
Thanks Terry |

May be the solonoid sticking i.e. not completely dis-engaging the starter.

Actually, the solonoid just triggers the starter to engage.
Yes you can disassemble the starter and lubricate shafts and moving parts.
