Can someone identify this window/door part?

A rattle appeared in my driver's side door a few days ago, so I disassembled it enough to locate this piece loose in the bottom of the door. I don't see where it apparently broke off from, and before I continue to disassemble, I thought I'd ask here. Everything still seems to work fine (lock, window, etc.). Does anyone recognize this piece (it's from an '88 btw)? Thanks!

Wow, Thanks Rick! I had searched (mostly using door), but hadn't seen that post.

If the window is still working, I doubt this is the culprit. Those pivots seem to shear off once and a while. Look into the door at the window regulator. If you can see the coil spring in the ceter of the window regulator and it is still attached, then what you found is the remnant from an already performed fix. Those pivots have to be welded in from behind. If the spring is off, then your window is a b**ch to roll up right now and you will need to order a new pivot. It is an easy fix though, just a pain to get the regulator out of the door. Good luck.

Thanks Sean, I've read your response on the other thread too, and I think you're correct. Since the window is working perfectly, and I can see the attached coil spring, I'm assuming this might be the something that was fixed earlier. I'm just going to reassemble everything. Any suggestions on an adhesive for securing the plastic liner (...I'll do a search too)? Thanks again for everyone's help...this board rocks!

You owe it to yourself to become intimately familiar with 3M spray adhesive. You can get it at any hardware store. I have gone through cans of it with new carpet, new vinyl, etc. It is wonderful stuff and will work on the plastic fine. If you ever need to replace carpet, you will be living with that stuff. Hope this helps.
