My engine sounds good, butthe volume is too loud...

OK guys, I need opinions.

I did the CT/NY/NJ fun run today, and while I like the sound of my engine, I need to turn the volume down! Can't hear the radio at highway speeds!

It is a 2.7 w/Webers, and a (I think) Primaflow exhaust. The muffler (I hate, ugly) was a temp measure, I think MB11s is the ticket, so hopefully that will quiet things just a bit.

I have NO sound deadening. And the rear deck was cut for speakers by a PO. I will weld those up over the winter. And the Webers have only those watersheild things...and make lots of moaning and sucking noises!

Here's where you come in.

What to do for sound deadening? My impression is that the factory solution is: heavy, expensive, and crumbles over time. Does the aftermarket have anything that is better in some respects? Something that reflects light perhaps? More reflection makes working on the engine so much easier! Something high tech and light maybe?

Thanks!

Click car stereo, then dampening...

What I think is that you should trade my more quiet, but excellent handling miata for your loud, rough 911. I would sacrafice myself by listening to the wonderful, I mean, horrible induction noise and inadequate muffler for your well being. That's just the sort of samaritan that I am. Can I get an amen for this selfless act?

I will trade you my 92 Cavalier. Very quiet. More roomy than a Miata...
