Accel dual sync distributor for EFI?

Supposedly Accel is making a distributor that outputs an RPM and cam signal for a 911 (it's in their catalog but there's no detail). Has anyone here seen or better yet used one?

Looks like you could fire a twin CDI type setup, but I can't quite tell from the picture if there are two posts per cylinder for spark plugs...

EDIT: The picture only shows 6 spark plug posts... But that may not be the end-all be-all picture...

I was thinking about using the Accel distributor for the crank and cam signal for the EFI and multi coil ignition and just put an aluminum cap where the cap and rotor would go. I have heard the signal from a distributor is not as precise as from an actual crank signal.

I currently have a dual sync distributor on order for a non Porsche project. I have discussed this with Rob at Force Fuel Injection. He is a great guy and easy to deal with. He sales multiple brand EFI setup which allows him to direct you to the best for application and not just to what he sales.

Tell him I sent you since we were just discussing this in relation to Porsches too. He has sold this for Porsche applications in the past. He is much easier to deal with in getting information than Accel/DFI direct....trust me, I've had to do that several times.

I run this distributor. I was the first or second to run it in a Porsche. It is meant to be ran with the Accel Gen 7. I have connections on any Accel stuff you will need. I run this in my 91 c2 turbo. The distributor is the crank and cam sensor in one. It is 6 plug post. You can run twin plug with a few mods. I will be the first that I know of to run twin plug with the Accel unit on a Porsche.

Eric,
What format are the pics in? I can convert and post them if you need. Send them to sdubovsky@yahoo.com

Lukesportsman,
I've been burned by Force EFI. Last year I needed a Haltech ECU & harness. He had one "new". I made SURE to ask if it was new and the version of the ECU. I paid for next day shipping. The wire harness had been cut down (had been installed then simply cut out). Call him back: "Uh, yeah. That unit is new, but we make our own wiring harnesses and it may be a little shorter than the factories." BS! I found a new ECU locally (who knew they were there?) and force's was a factory harness w/ the coil and inj wires cut very short. The maps in the ecu were set up for something also. So, I got screwed for $70-100 shipping and lost out a valuable few days on my project. They are forever on my ****list...

Randy, Last I heard Aaron was doing a small production run to check tolerances. I am sure there are many of us waiting for them.

I am interested to know what has to be done for twin plug on this Accel dist. Do they supply an adaptor plate? What about cap and rotor? Strokher, can you give us a bit more detail on your setup? thanks

Eric:

Yes, running Gen VII. Well, I should say trying to run Gen VII. Just got the ECU back from Accel today after a diagnostic check. They couldn't repeat the issues I was seeing with my Unilight/Crane setup so I've decided to go with the Dual Sync Dizzy.

Are you running Gen VII on your Porsche? What are your thoughts so far? Resolution? Feedback? Data logging?

Thanks for your time. May I ask you follow up questions as I proceed with my install?
