Look above, your black anodized wheels look much better as-is than polished paddles. Just have them refinished and they'll look new again.
Yeah. |
|
I had my original Fuchs redone from the stock finish to a polished lip and silver powder coated paddles.
Then I found a stock original finish set of 7's and 9's and put them on. While the refinished wheels look good (some might even say better) the stock finish looked more purposefull and in character with the German road warrior. :) |
The blue targa someone posted a pic of earlier is RCM's car. Until I saw his wheels, I was never really a fan of the polished lips and paddles, I prefered the anodized look. But in person, the polished look is stellar. But I think if you go polished, anodized, or RSR finish, they all look good. All black centers and it just doesn't stand out as a Fuch, it looks far to 80's, which we all know was the low spot of the 20th century.

All black (even the lip)
Or all polished. Although the car does look pretty damn nice as is. |
Bright pink with flourescent green spots!!
Well you did ask how I wanted to see your Fuchs |
When I had 6's and 7's on mine they had the black centres and polished rims. When I got my new 8's, I decided to get the 7's re-anodised to match. The anodised look really suits the car much, much better (particularly on a white car) than the polished. I have recieved nothing but very positive comments since the upgrade.

How about like thishttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1098669140.jpg

Personally, I would like to see your fuchs on my car...
Failing that, I vote original. The bright paddles need bright trim to match up with. Our cars with the black trim look best with the original black centers with the anodized lips. Nice shot of your car. I want 9's soooo bad... Dan :) |

RSR Finish..

How about replicating them in forged magnesium and then just spraying some clearcoat over that? You'll save about 2 lbs per wheel....
|
OZCarrera3's before/after shots have me convinced that this is the way to go on a white car. Despite the fact that i have polished lips on black faced 16x7,8's on my red Carrera.
Let's see some RSR finishes Mike '86 coupe |
Hey Vash. Here's another coupe (diff. color) but the polished Fuchs really looked great. Not a common treatment and it adds a different dimmension to the classic wheel. <<Courtesy of Shuey>>

I think leave them as they are but just re do them.
I think it looks a bit bling any other way. |
Vash, thanks for the compliment. If you're wondering what polished Fuchs on a white car would look like...
