John,
As it was stated above, have someone press down on the front of the hood by the latch and pull the handle. By pressing down, you are taking pressure off the latch and it should release the hood. If this doesn't work the you will probably have to move on to the next step to access it. Steve "A Porsche does more then just go fast in a straight line"

I have had this prouble with my car before, I used a thin wire and fished it under the hood . Then got both ends of the wire on each side of the latch Then I just pulled towards me, Open !!
