Has anyone had a set of mesh SSR rims on their 911?

I just bought another 911 (yeah..I know...it'll never end) and it came with these mesh style rims made by SSR. At first I thought they were BBS's, but then I noticed the centercap, then the SSR markings on the wheel. Has anyone had these before? They look like 15x7s and 8s, with 205 front and 225 rear tires. I'm not a big fan of mesh style wheels, so I'll probably end up selling them unless there's a good reason to keep them. Suggestions? Comments? TIA.

Jeff - WTF, buddy?

What's wrong with the targa?? I thought you'd have your hands full with the '76, but wow... another 911! Are your folks going crazy??

Tell us more about this new car! Is it a shell to swap all the '76 stuff over from or a new project?

if you blacked out the mesh part of those wheels they could look pretty sweet and at least be used for track wheels!

Hey, with those caps upside down, if you squint it kinda looks like BBS!

SSR ( here ) does not show those wheels. However, they get good marks by the ricers as a semi-forged and light wheels.

I like them, but I would since one of my sets of wheels are the one piece BBS. If you had four 7's, I'd jump on those like a duck on a June bug.

Yeah, black centers, first thing I'd do.

Thanks for your comments guys...blacking out the center isn't a bad idea. How much do you guys think I'd be able to get if I wanted to sell it? If I can get good money for it I would sell to recover some money to fix the body (plenty of rust).

Adam - Uh...nothing wrong with the targa, except guzzling expensive Hawaii gas, and me having to use it as a daily driver (gets kinda hot here year round, ya know? ). Yes...dad has gone mad. Kinda hard to let this go, especially a running 2.7 for $1500. I'll post more pics and details on a separate post tonight. And Yes...this one will be used as the shell for the '76 (it's a non sunroof coupe..yipee!); funny how where there's rust on one, there isn't much on the other.

Milt - thanks for the link! I know SSRs are well known in the ricer/drifter crowd...never thought I'd see it on a Porsche. I looked through the entire site...found them! http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collection/ssr_mesh/index.html

The 'good reason to keep them' is that after you are done cleaning something like that you will not have to go to the gym....

From what I remember, you're a little taller than me, so you'll find the non-sunroof a big bonus. My '76 is a non-sunroof and I'm very happy with the headroom at 6'2". $1,500 is a friggin' bargain! - Congrats! I'll keep an eye open for your post about the new car...
