Save Carlsbad Raceway
I know this is the wrong section, but I felt it was important enough to post here. Carlsbad raceway has been one of the most coveted and diverse racing complexes in the world for years. It has served as the playground for racers from Dragracing to motocross to dirt oval for over 40 years. Over the years when I raced Motocross, I raced at Carlsbad raceway several times and it was always one of the premiere races on the schedule of the Golden States. Also located on the grounds is the world's very first skateboarding park. The preservationists would like to restore the skatepark, put in modern skating facilities as well as construct the worlds largest Skateboarding museum.
Please visit the site below and read about it's place in history. Please do what you can by either donating to the cause or by writing to the city and state legislature. Even though you may not live in Carlsbad, you can still be a part of it's preservation. http://www.carlsbadskatepark.org/ "Well auto racing will lose another piece of Auto motive history.....This Sunday will be the last ever Drags @ Carlsbad Raceway . The raceway's claim to fame comes from back in the dayz with Motocross / and the Superbikes that used to call the Southern California Track home for many years . The tack in it's day had a total of 6 tracks on it. One Mx style track one outdoor style track , the Grand Prix track that used the Drag strip, the Mx track and the out door style track all in one big track . It also had two dirt ovals that Bikes and Go-carts raced on and as well as the Drag strip." http://www.supercross.com/feature.php?id=253 Thank you for taking the time to read this thread.
