Thanks to the guy in the red cab on the 405/110 interchange tonight!

Hope that guy is a Pelican head and sees this.

Thank you very much !! Raised my spirits, got me through the night!!!

Was the backup/on call person for work tonight. It got busy so I got called in. Not really upset, but just really bummed. My 6 yo daughter was really upset I had to leave. Felt really bad for her.

Well on the way to work right at the 405/110 interchange, guy in a really nice red 911 cab pulls up along me and gives me a big thumbs up!

Made me feel so much better, put me in a good mood for the rest of the night! Tomorrow will be a great day with my daughter!!

Just wanted to thank him!!!

To everyone else, make sure you give your fellow 911 owner a nice greeting. You may be the hero tomorrow!!

Cool. Neat story even if it's trivial. A little thumbs up goes a long way these days. I try to acknowledge lots of cars and trucks, even a well turned out big rig, but most don't look over. Maybe that's because my daily is a plain PU.

Keep the smiles flyin' across the lanes.............

Glad to hear. Its always great to meet/come across a fellow enthusiast. It s kind of funny how some of the exact same feelings are going through your minds when you talk about cars especially Porsches.

Glad to hear it!!

Ya know...it's nice to hear that at least some Porsche drivers will ackowlege each other. I have always given a wave and a smile or a thumbs up at my fellow Porsche drivers. Amazingly to me, most of the 996 guys act as if they never saw me. On the other hand, most of the guys in the older cars (including 964's) will return the wave and a smile.

What is it with these 996 guys?! Is my old 911 not worthy?

All the aircooled guys I drive by always do the wave/thumbs up and so do I. 911/964/993 owners all do it. And if two of us are at the gas station at the same time, well, we're gonna be late for wherever we're going.
Most of waterboys are perhaps a different breed.

On the contrary. Your 911 is what the 996ers aspire to be.

I try and do this every opportunity.
This past week at a stop I was along side a Hog with a decorated long hair driver with colors. The Harley was absolutely beautiful and perfectly clean. I gave him the OK sign and a thumbs-up and got a big toothless grin in return. Not only did he go away satisfied, I feel good for possibly making his day.

Best,
Grady

I was heading down one of the main drags by my house, and I dont see a whole lot of Porsche guys around my neck of the woods. But sure enough a nice little white traga came headin at me and the guy driving and his wife through out a big wave of hello and I waved back. Its the little things that make owning a 911 not a purchase but a lifestyle. I had a big smile all the way home.

I dont give a lot of thumbs up...because there are so many 911s out here.

I did give one last week in Hermosa Beach. I was going downhill on a little street towards PCH and this White 80s Carrera was coming up. It was just me and him on this little street. I gave him the thumbs up and he gave me one back. he wasnt going to do it until I did.

I gave a thumbs up to a guy on a Harley the other day, cause he was checking out the car.

Very Cool! You see there are some open-minded people here. Grady, I'll bet that if you saw that guy in his $300K Chevelle you'd have waved at him too!!
