How to read a Wiring Diagrm Tutorial

Just got my Bentley manual and decided to try and figure out some electrical problems using the wiring diagrams. Unfortantley I have no electrical experice and had touble understading them. I found this old Ford tutoiral on line which explained a lot of the basics. It is sort of slow and a little corny but it was a great help in getting started.

Click on "Course 13001, Volume 68 S7" - How to Read Wiring Diagrams at the bottom of the page.

Be aware that the Porsche wiring diagrams are of a format that I, at least, had never seen before. It may well be a format common in Germany or perhaps all of Metricland, but it baffled me at first, since I was accustomed to the continuous-flow (or whatever an EE would call it) diagrams that I'd always read. Having said that, the Porsche/German format makes perfect sense and is perfectly easy to trace once you figure out the method in their madness.

I'm color-blind so these diagrams just confuse the heck out of me.

Mike,

The Bentley diagrams are very difficult to read, due to them being in black and white. Colour versions are available somewhere on the Pelican Parts site, and I would suggest you rather use those - much easier to follow!

Cheers!
