Pepper Wagon Makes Forbes' List of Turkeys

Forbes magazine just published its list of 2004 automotive turkeys. The Cayenne won the dubious distinction of having the most recalls.

See what happens when our beloved marque consults with the Japanese on how to build cars more efficiently...

Not just Porsche...Mercedes also under fire for build quality. And to think...I dumped a Pontiac GTO for just that reason...spending more time in the dealership shop than on the road. Trading on past glory days only works for so long until folks catch on.

Hmmm, I think there's only been 2 recalls on mine. Both totally ridiculous. One was for some wiring that could possibly rub on the parking brake pedal ....... well, maybe if you pushed the parking brake pedal in and out 10,000 times it MIGHT start to wear on the harness .... but then it would have to go thru the wire insulation too The other one was along the same lines. So much for Forbes automotive expertise.

BTW: anybody interested in a high-mileage Cayenne S? I'm selling mine and buying a new one. I've considered every car under the sun as a replacement. But I keep going back to the Cayenne. I can't come up with anything better, other than possibly an Audi RS6. PM me if interested.

Curt...I'd imagine you've been flooded with PM's...
