ASk on the parts for sale board here. I did and made a good deal on a near perfect kit.

Here's one on Ebay for a "buy it now" price of $550. It includes the compressor and a pressure guage.

Well maybe Partsheaven was a good buy. Maybe I should just get the bag from them and then stock it myself.

Has anyone else made up their own kit?

I am pretty sure I paid 150.00 for the one I bought. Had another offered that was missing a few more parts. Keep looking they surface regularly.

The only tools in the factory kit worth having are the spark plug tool, and the spanner-thingy for removing the fan belt.

Buy a 12V compressor from your FLAPS, add to a set of Craftsman metric wrenches, some screwdrivers, and a breaker bar with the correct socket for the lug nuts and the fan nut, some spare fuses and a spare fan belt and you are all set.

I made up my own kit,I purchased an empty Porsche tool kit pouch off ebay for $15.00,then I purchased the OEM spark plug tool and the oem fan pulley wrench,in my opinion these are the only tools you need from the factory tool kit,all the others like screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, spare fuses, spare belt etc. can be purchased locally,I think I have $50.00 to $60.00 total in my kit. It's not for the concourse crowd but it will get me by on the side of the road and that's what I want it for. Also I took the Porsche air compressor out of my 944S before I sold it so I have that also. For that matter you can go to a flea market or garage sale and get the same quality wrenches that Porsche supplied in the kit!!

Like he said, exept for the two special tools, the factory tools are pretty crappy and you can find better or cheaper substitutes on your own. I might suggest you add a stubby 13mm wrench to your kit for the battery connector.

Thanks fellas. I think that is what I'll do. Just buy the bag and put the kit together myself. I'll try to get them to give me the spark plug tool and fan wrench.
