Rebuilding cailpers?

If I just rebuild my calipers and I put them back on my car and they are not working correctly can I rebuild them again without damaging the new seals?

Matthew, can you define "not working properly"? You may be experiencing issues that are inherent after a fresh rebuild.

Matthew - Yes, I've pulled them apart a 2nd time w/o problem if you are sure to lube up the pistons when re-installing. Your problem may be the rubber flexible lines and not the caliper; that was my experience.....G'luck

You shouldn't have to rebuild them again after doing it the first time unless you didn't put the pistons in with the notch at the correct 20* angle. If they aren't working then either something else is bad or you need to bleed them.

When my rebuilt calipers went back onto the car, I was somewhat concerned about the pedal being very solid, but initially travelling slightly farther than I thought it should. If I let up on the pedal and pressed down again, it was at a slightly higher level that I deemed as correct. My buddy, who has been a factory Porsche tech for 22 years, told me to drive the car and that issue will dissapear in a few days. When I asked him the reason, he spoke over my head ( which isn't too difficult) so I trusted him. Sure enough, the pedal was perfect after a few days.
