901 rebuild questions
I'm rebuilding 1st in my 901 and have some questions for ya experts. I've got a new synchronizer on, but need to replace one of the gears with dog teeth on it. I'm not sure what it's official name is and need help identifying it in Pelican's parts catalog. There are two listed "transmission synchro hubs @ $123.00", and "transmission Sliders @ $404.00 (ouch!!). Here are some pics of the one I have with broken and worn dog teeth, it all appears to be a one piece deal. The other, which houses the synchro band looks ok, but not great. Thoughts??

they're both toast. the top pic is the 1st and reverse shift sleeve/slider/operating sleeve, whatever you want to call it. be sure you only use one brake band in there or you will have difficulty getting into 1st from a stop. some have been updated using the stop dog, anchor block and brake bands from 2/3/4/5 gears. not a good idea.
