3.2 Carrera values?
Just had a buddy trade in his very clean 150K mile Carrera for 12000.
Have another that I am looking at with 190K miles on it and still clean enough. What are decentr '84/'85 Carreras selling for today? |

I bought an 88 Coupe with 117k miles for $17k in March last year.
Some more details: - turbo tie rods - weltmeister strut bar - no tail - no front chin So I'd say that's comparable with the 84/85 you are looking at... |

Clean meaning only minor work to make into a nice daily driver: $12-14K

I bought my '87 G-50 Targa for $15k in June. Already had a top end done at 125k miles and had 155k when I bought it, and all paperwork since new. Needed nothing to be driven daily. Needs a lot to satisfy my need to improve/upgrade etc.
It has been nothing but smiles since I bought it ![]() -Chris

I guess I am outed??? Thanks Dane! Yes, I did trade in my '84 to get a daily driver. I will be purchasing a p-car in the future, once I have more room, other than an single car garage. I actually removed all aftermarket items of value and traded it in for $12,000. Add another $1,000 for the tax saving toward a new car, and you are at $13,000. Next, add back the rims, exhaust, steering wheel and other items that I removed, but would have been sold on the car, and you are up to between $15-16K. I found that to be the average going price for a 3.2 these days.

Hey Marc,
I've been kicking around the idea of selling my car. 996 prices have me thinking...more like dreaming of a 996 GT3 clone. Problem is that I don't think anyone would buy it for what I'd sell it for. My OD shows almost 220K but I put in a 75K motor last year. Upgrades include a KEP pressure plate with centerforce clutch, Autothority MAF, 22/28 weltmeister T-bars, turbo tie rods, Bilstein sport shocks, Wevo front monoballs with CF strut brace, 930 brakes (Pagid Orange pads + street pads), newly refinished 951 8s and NEW 9s with RA1s, front spoiler and RS America tail. Everyone would want to buy my car for mid teens and I'd want to sell for mid 20s. Anyone interested in my car would have to be looking specifically for a street/track car and be willing to pay more for all the add ons....I think I'm stuck with my car.
